Getting back to the 'here and now': a look at reality orientation
Article Abstract:
Reality orientation is used in nursing homes to make patients aware of the present. Loretta Gray conducts reality orientation sessions at the Washington Center for Aging Services. She includes poems and travelogues in her approach. Remotivation is another aspect of reality therapy which tries to get patients to remember past events and then bring them up to the present.
