Impact of the National Practitioner Data Bank on resolution of malpractice claims
Article Abstract:
National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) was setup for to improve the quality of health care and it requires that any payment of a malpractice claim be reported by physicians. The impact of this data bank on malpractice litigation settlement was examined through comparison of settled claim rates prior to and after NPDB.
