Hospital-based home care poised for growth in 1990s
Article Abstract:
A report issued by the American Hospital Assn's Division of Ambulatory Care predicts an expansion of hospital-based home care services during the 1990s. The number of hospitals offering such services more than tripled during the 1980s, from 11.5% in 1980 to 35.6% in 1990. The aging of the population, as well as legal and political pressure on the insurance industry, is expected to fuel this growth in the home care industry.
