Merger matters
Article Abstract:
Friendly Hills HealthCare Network's acquisition of a 250-member physician group from Cigna Corp lead to several changes at the Los Angeles, CA-area network, according to Tom Meyer, senior vice president of medical affairs. He noted that a tracking system for hospital patients was implemented and a system developed to allow Friendly Hills to bill for services rendered by the Cigna physicians in contracted, non-Friendly Hills hospitals. The network is also developing a new case management system to cover the new physicians working outside the network's hospitals.
