The benefits obtained due to signing of the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act (MMA) 2003, is discussed. The MMA provides for a wide variety of payment increases to health care providers. The statistical data of the significant updates for different health care providers is also presented.

The nursing staff residents, not covered by Medicare of Medicaid were insured under ling-term care or other private insurance. The Committee members of the Balanced Budget Act (BBA) of 1997 had planned for a long-term care that failed to compete with Medicare.
