St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center of Topeka, KS, recruited advertising agency Callahan Creek Inc. of Topeka to produce an image-building campaign. The agency needed to emphasize St. Francis' status as a compassionate patient care provider for cancer treatment. Callahan Creek would then promote the hospital as the best health-care provider with cutting-edge technology. Callahan Creek relied on outdoor, radio, television, and newspaper media for this purpose. In the end, the agency succeeded in improving awareness by managed care firms, doctors, and the community of St. Francis' medical niche. At the same time, St. Francis' image improved.

Johnson City Medical Center, a 407-bed health care facility in Johnson City, TN, hired advertising agency Target Marketing & Creative Services of Johnson City to produce a marketing campaign. The agency used radio, television, and newspaper media for this effort. The medical center wanted to emphasize the need for early diagnostic procedures to determine heart disease. Johnson City Medical also allowed its Web site to be used. In return, the medical center received more inquiries for physician referral and cardiac care data.
