Swing beds: new diversification opportunity for small and rural hospitals
Article Abstract:
A swing-bed hospital program can help a small, rural hospital cope with long-term care needs. The program can be of value to the elderly patient because of recent reimbursement changes in Medicare and Medicaid. If the program is carefully analyzed from a marketing standpoint it can prove to be beneficial for long-term community health care services.
