Manufacturing: the most dangerous industry?
Article Abstract:
Manufacturers are adopting various methods of minimizing work-related injuries as the industry becomes one of the sectors most vulnerable to employee accidents and illnesses. Although incidences of injuries have gradually dropped as of 1995, repetitive illnesses continue to be one of the perils faced by manufacturers. The increasing rate of worker accidents in the industry can be attributed not only to incompliance to safety standards, but the prolonged exposure of manufacturers to chemicals, electricity, machine and small-arms ammunition, as well.
