Cornelius Castoriadis
Article Abstract:
Scholar Cornelius Castoriadis was born in Constantinople, Greece. He joined the Greek Communist Party at the age of 17 but had to flee to Paris, France, in 1945 because of a number of death threats from Fascists and Communists. He authored several works about the uprisings in Berlin, Germany, and Hungary under the pseudonyms Paul Cardan and Pierre Chalieu. He was also remembered for his attacks on Marxism, particularly those who used Marx as sort of a bible. Castoriadis died on Dec 26, 1997.
