A 58-year-old man with progressive hypotension and respiratory failure after treatment for apparent pulmonary tuberculosis
Article Abstract:
A 58-year-old man was admitted to a hospital with respiratory distress and low blood pressure. A chest X-ray revealed signs of tuberculosis and he was treated with antituberculosis drugs. He began to improve and was discharged but was hospitalized again sometime later with worsening symptoms. A CT scan had revealed consolidation of the lung similar to that caused by tuberculosis. He eventually died and an autopsy revealed that the lung consolidation had been caused by lung cancer.
