Heart failure in aortic stenosis -- improving diagnosis and treatment
Article Abstract:
The physiology of heart failure in patients with aortic valve stenosis is reviewed. These patients should have the valve replaced as soon as they can be stabilized. Aortic valve stenosis is a hardening of one of the heart valves that prevents it from functioning properly.

Diastolic heart failure-abnormalities in active relaxation and passive stiffness of the left ventricle
Article Abstract:
Patients with signs and symptoms of heart failure and a normal left ventricular ejection fraction have diastolic heart failure. These patients have significant abnormalities in active relaxation and passive stiffness.
