A B-cell mitogen from a pathogenic trypanosome is a eukaryotic proline racemase
Article Abstract:
Research examines the role of polyclonal activation in the mechanism of infection resistance and immune responses in Trypanosoma cruzi infection. Results show that a proline racemase expressed as a cytoplasmic and/or membrane-asociated protein is involved in the mitogenic activity.
