A characteristic cluster of fetal sonographic markers that are predictive of fetal Turner syndrome in early pregnancy
Article Abstract:
A huge septated cystic hygroma, severe subcutaneous edema, and hydrops may all be anatomic signs that a fetus has Turner syndrome, according to a study of 40,123 pregnant women who had an ultrasound exam. All 13 of the fetuses who were subsequently diagnosed with Turner syndrome had all of the above anatomical abnormalities. The ultrasound scans were done at 14 to 16 weeks, proving that prenatal diagnosis of Turner syndrome can be done early in the pregnancy.

Fetal polydactyly diagnosis during early pregnancy: clinical applications
Article Abstract:
Improvements in ultrasound scanning allow doctors to identify fetuses that have an extra finger or toe as early as 10 weeks. In a study of 16 such fetuses in whom amniocentesis revealed no genetic disorders, 14 had an extra rudimentary small finger. In most, the extra finger dropped off and only a small bump was visible after birth.

Ultrasonographic diagnosis of glossoptosis in fetuses with Pierre Robin sequence in early and mid pregnancy
Article Abstract:
The sonographic features of fetal glossoptosis in the Pierre Robin sequence are described. Sonographic identification of glossoptosis with fetal micrognathia suggests the possibility of Pierre Robin sequence.
