CPNs and adults sexually abused in childhood
Article Abstract:
A study of 17 community psychiatric nurses (CPNs) in South Wales and Birmingham, UK, reveals the extent to which CPNs are prepared to deal with child sex abuse and adults who were once abused as children. Only seven of the CPNs were currently working on sex abuse cases, while nearly two-thirds thought CPNs should work on abused clients. Eight CPNs had training or information on such abuse, while 11 said they had had the time to be trained on sexual abuse.

Care to the end
Article Abstract:
Working as a community nurse in palliative care for children with terminal illnesses is a stressful but rewarding role. Such nurses play an important role in the lives of sick children and their families. A principal role of a nurse in this field is to decide who will be best suited to acting as a key worker for each child.
