A major miner: Virginia's safest active miner receives MSHA honor

Dallas Chaffins, a 73-year-old miner and working in mine for more than 55 years, was recognized by the Mine Safety Health Administration's District 5 for his accomplishment. Chaffins has expressed about the technological changes in the mining industry from the time he started his career and has advised the young to be careful and should watch other people they work with to avoid accidents.
