A picture of health?
Article Abstract:
The maintenance or development of community nursing has been declared a primary goal by a number of Western countries. Some east European countries have few community nurses and focus more on hospital-based nursing. However, many are reassessing their primary health care services and have pledged to improve nurse training and address nursing roles. Most National Health Service nurses in the United Kingdom are still based in hospitals despite the policy of shifting care to the community. Community nurses are demoralised but are encouraged by policies which focus on improving public health.
