Missouri-based Jo Krummrich at the age of 59 years was diagnosed with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) in which fat in the liver causes inflammation, also showing signs of scarring in the liver called Fibrosis. After being diagnosed with NASH, Jo Krummich was advised to go on a weight loss program and lost 71 pounds, after which her liver enzymes were normal again.

The weight-loss plan becomes easier when one can track the food intake by counting 'points' values while choosing from an unlimited variety of foods. Three menus based on a daily 'points' target of 24 are provided that are flexible and hence can be adjusted to meet different target as required.
