Acupuncture for labor pain management: A systematic view
Article Abstract:
A critical evaluation of the evidence on the analgesic effect of acupuncture during labor is presented, using computerized literature searches of seven databases for randomized clinical trials (RCTs) of the practice. Evidence for acupuncture as an adjunct to conventional pain control during labor is promising, but not convincing enough due to lack of adequate trial data, indicating a need for further research to clearly define its place in labor pain management.

The use of non-nutritive sucking to decrease the physiologic pain response during neonatal circumcision: A randomized controlled trial
Article Abstract:
The effects on the physiologic pain response of the neonate during circumcision with the use of a gloved human finger are studied. Results reveal that non-nutritive sucking (NNS) significantly decreases some elements of measurable physiologic pain response of the neonate during circumcision.
