Adult hemopoietic stem cell transplantation
Article Abstract:
All patients who receive a blood stem cell transplant should be seen by a dentist on a regular basis. Chemotherapy and radiation treatment can damage the inside of the mouth. Also, a complication of transplantation called graft-versus-host disease can affect the mouth. The immunosuppressive drugs these patients must take can also affect the mouth.
