Aiding and abetting
Article Abstract:
Nurses have no legal obligation to assist if they should come across a medical emergency in the course of their everyday lives. However, nurses who elect to offer assistance have a legal duty to offer care to the standard which would be expected of a skilled person practising their skill. Nurses also have a professional duty, as outlined in the UKCC Code of Conduct, to serve the best interests of the public and to uphold the reputation of the nursing profession.
