Allergic to the world
Article Abstract:
A European white paper recommends that countries in the European Union should improve they treatment they offer for allergies because the number of sufferers has doubled since the 1970s. The United Kingdom only has six allergy specialists working in the National Health Service and another 20 in universities. Asthma nurses could be trained to diagnose allergies and this would limit the numbers of people who resort to alternative medicine. There are doubts about the effectiveness of the advice that patients are given about diet and lifestyle by these practitioners.
