Article Abstract:
A case study at a cellophane manufacturing plant is used to show the success of the behavioural approach whereby encouraging safe behaviour, rather than using discipline or changing attitudes, is focused on as a means of reducing accidents at work. As a result of a reduction in lost time accidents, cost savings were made and some safety practices which had fallen out of use were reintroduced.
