Aneurysm treatments expand
Article Abstract:
Abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs) are caused by pathological changes in the aortic wall that lead to segmental weakening, progressive dilation and spontaneous rupture. Pharmacologic therapy may prevent further deterioration of the aortic wall in individuals with small AAAs as anti-inflammatory agents and proteinase inhibitors not only suppress development of aneurysms but also induce regression.
