Angiotensin-converting-enzyme inhibition in stable coronary artery disease
Article Abstract:
The aim of Prevention of Events with Angiotensin Converting Enzyme Inhibition (PEACE) Trial is to test the hypothesis that patients with stable coronary artery disease and normal or slightly reduced left ventricular function derive therapeutic benefit from the addition of angiotensin-converting-enzyme (ACE) inhibitors to modern conventional therapy. It is found that there is no evidence that the addition of ACE inhibitor provides benefit in terms of death from cardiovascular causes, myocardial infarction or coronary revascularization to patients.

Preventing microalbuminuria in type 2 diabetes
Article Abstract:
Assessment of whether angiotensin-converting-enzyme inhibitors and non-dihydropyridine calcium-channel blockers prevent microalbuminuria in subjects with hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus, and normal urinary albumin excretion is conducted. It is found that in subjects with type 2 diabetes, the use of trandolapril plus verapamil and trandolapril alone decreased the incidence of microalbuminuria to a similar extent.
