Low-carbohydrate-diet score and the risk of coronary heart disease in women
Article Abstract:
A system was devised to classify women who participated in the Nurses' Health Study according to their relative levels of fats, protein, and carbohydrate intake to examine the prospective association between the low-carbohydrate-diet score and the risk of coronary heart disease. The findings suggest that diets lower in carbohydrate and higher in protein and fat are not associated with increased risk of coronary heart disease in women.
