Anti-integrin therapy
Article Abstract:
The anti-integrin therapy consists of an antibody and the synthetic compounds, tirofiban and eptifibatide, which antagonize the function of the glycoprotein IIb/IIIa integrin receptor involved in the platelet aggregation. Research shows that the antibody is used in catheterization procedures, while the two compounds reduce risk in persons with unstable angina during coronary intervention procedures.
