Ore. assisted-suicide vote still raising questions, obstacles
Article Abstract:
Many questions arose after the passage of the law legalizing assisted suicide in Oregon. Professional liability insurance will cover physicians who choose to participate. Most insurance companies in the state will also cover the service. The Oregon Board of Pharmacy requires doctors to specify on the pharmaceutical order if the medication is for assisted suicide so the pharmacist can decide whether to participate.

House affirms AMA stance on abortion
Article Abstract:
The House of Delegates of the American Medical Assn voted to endorse proposed restrictions on the so-called 'intact dilatation and extraction' method of abortion during late-term pregnancy. Many doctors and organizations opposed the legislation, and alternatives were suggested, including the removal of criminal penalties against physicians. The law is not expected to pass until the 106th Congress.
