Subtle Clues of Alcohol Use in Elderly Women
Article Abstract:
Slight but specific indicators can help health professionals determine possible alcohol abuse among older women. These include fatigue, falls or accidents, depression, confusion, weight loss, hypertension, headache, memory loss and self-neglect. Questioning caretakers can also reveal clues to a patient's alcohol use, such as information on lifestyle or behavioral changes.
