Back to the future: the 'old-fashioned' way to new medications for neurodegeneration
Article Abstract:
Progress towards effective treatments of neurodegenerative diseases is remarkably slow. There are number of obstacles towards discovery of effective drug for neurodegeneration but a consideration of these problems would make it possible to identify lessons for the future.

APCs size up antigens
Article Abstract:
Intracellular antigens pose a challenge to the immune response and to vaccine development. Three studies examine the process of antigens entering antigen-presenting cells, implicating whole proteins instead of small peptides as key intermediaries.

Immunotherapy of established tumors using bone marrow transplantation with antigen gene-modified hematopoietic stem cells
Article Abstract:
The strategies to induce T-cell responses through presentation of tumor antigens by dendritic cells (DCs) a major focus of cancer immunotherapy is illustrated. The results are used to discover more efficient treatments for the diseases.
