Bacterial genetics, antibiotic usage, and public policy: the cultural interplay in emerging resistance
Article Abstract:
A number of scientists have attempted to develop treatment measures to solve the problems borne by bacterial infections, but none have fully succeeded because bacteria are able to develop a resistance to every antimicrobial agent produced. The difficulty lies in the differences between the impact of the kind of resistance bacteria exhibits towards different diseases, such as the case in tuberculosis and TEM beta-lactamase. The solution to the problem of resistance is increased awareness of factors that can contribute to resistance, improved health policies and effective infection control.

Extreme pleomorphism and the bacterial life cycle: a forgotten controversy
Article Abstract:
Bacteriologists debated on the issue of extreme pleomorphism and the bacterial life cycle during the first four decades of the 20th century. Eventually, the monomorphists triumphed over the pleomorphists. However, a number of heretics continue to offer evidences that supposedly support the pleomorphist theory. These studies on extreme pleomorphism should not be dismissed without thorough reexamination.
