Benefits with risks - Bush's tax-based health care proposals
Article Abstract:
The U.S. President George W. Bush announced a major two-part health program in January 2007 that would create a new uniform tax deduction for all citizens obtaining health insurance and provide assistance to states that make basic private health insurance available to residents. However, if the initiative were adopted as proposed, it would be a small move toward a more equitable system. It would also have an uncertain effect on the expansion of coverage and expose insured Americans to considerable risk.
