Doctors in the dark on Medicare drug payment charges
Article Abstract:
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is implementing a new payment system for physician-administered prescription drugs under Medicare without taking a feedback from the affected parties. The four options of changing the payment system as proposed by CMS and their effects on the medical system are discussed.

The article discusses objectives and benefits of advance care planning, where in the patient, as well as his family and the physicians are involved in making decisions related to the patient. The patients should be provided with all the details before coming to a decision, while keeping the advance directives at check.
