Bioterror vaccine production: Take 2: New biodefence R&D agency created
Article Abstract:
The Biodefense Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) is created within the Department of Health and Human Services in order to oversee an additional $1.07 billion to assist companies in developing bioterror vaccines and drugs. The new law is designed to enhance overall public health security preparedness, as well as improve medical surge capacity to handle large-scale medical emergencies.
