Blockade of interleukin 6 trans signaling suppresses T-cell resistance against apoptosis in chronic intestinal inflammation: evidence in Crohn disease and experimental colitis in vivo
Article Abstract:
T cell activation via the complex of interleukin-6 with its soluble receptor seems to cause the chronic intestinal inflammation in patients with Crohn disease. Blocking this reaction could make mucosal T-cells susceptible to apoptosis.

New feelings about the role of sensory nerves in inflammation
Article Abstract:
A cell receptor on sensory nerves called proteinase-activated receptor 2 (PAR2) is stimulated by trypsin and tryptase. Once stimulated, PAR2 causes the nerve to release neuropeptides that mediate neurogenic inflammation.

Protection from septic shock by neutralization of macrophage migration inhibitory factor
Article Abstract:
Drugs that inhibit macrophage migratory inhibitory factor (MIF) could prevent sepsis. In mice, an anti-MIF antibody protected the mice from sepsis even when given 8 hours after the induction of peritonitis.
