Diagnosis and prevention of bovine spongiform encephalopathy and variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease
Article Abstract:
The bovine spongiform encephalopathy or Crekutzfeldt-Jakob disease occurs as a variant in humans and causes psychiatric and/or behavioral changes. Research indicates that the origin for both the diseases is the same infectious agent, which is found in the central nervous system and called prions. Prevention of contamination of the animal food chain with prions controls the spread of the disease.
