Canadian doctors unhappy at prescribing 'medicine'
Article Abstract:
The author analyzes the aspect of smoking marijuana under medical supervision in Canada. Canada has become the first country in the world to sanction the medical use of marijuana and the concern of the Canadian Medical Association that physicians will have to act as gatekeepers to the unregulated 'medicine' is discussed.

Research has been conducted on the correlation between cancer progression and extracellular proteinase expression. The dependence of the malignant cells on the matrix metalloproteinases and serine proteinases and the role of the matrix metalloproteinases in metastasis have been investigated and are reported.

Complete reversal of fatal pulmonary hypertension in rats by a serine elastase inhibitor

Research of fatal pulmonary hypertension is presented. Elastase inhibitors are associated with suppression of tenascin-C and of inducing the growth of smooth muscle cells, which leads to the reversal of advanced pulmonary vascular diseases.
