Are standardized reporting requirements around the corner?
Article Abstract:
The Insurance Data Management Association and the American national Standards Institute formed the IDMA/ANSI Z16 committee to create a set of standards to describe and code occupational illnesses and injuries. The new standards also promises to facilitate worker compensation reporting. To come up with the standards, the committee initially focused on the how the processing of workers' compensation claims is done, after which, the best classification system to be used was identified. The ANSI Z16.2 or OIICS and the ICD-10-CM systems were recommended by the committee.
