Case 18-2005: A 45-year-old woman with a painful mass in the abdomen
Article Abstract:
A case study of a 45-year-old woman admitted in the hospital with merely a painful abdominal mass is discussed along with further progress and observations during her treatments. An abdominal ultrasonograhic study performed at an evaluation showed a highly vascular, mixed echoic mass, 3.5 cm by 3.5 cm by 1.0 cm, in the lower right anterior abdominal wall.

Activating mutations in the epidermal growth factor receptor underlying responsiveness of non-small-cell lung cancer to gefitnib
Article Abstract:
A study conducted to search for mutations in the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) gene in primary tumors from patients with non-small-cell lung cancer. Screening for such mutations in lung cancers may identify patients with response to gefitinib, is presented.

A 54-year-old woman with a mass in the pelvis was examined and diagnostic procedure was performed on her. Anatomical diagnosis showed mixed high-grade serous papillary and transitional-cell carcinoma of the fallopian tube, FIGO stage IIIC.
