An online update of American military causalities that is, the number of wounded or dead from Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring freedom is provided by the U.S. Department of Defense. The way in which the military surgical team that works under pressure has performed in the war is discussed.

Accidental deaths, saved lives, and improved quality

The limitations of ensuring patient safety, and preventing accidental deaths or injuries in contributing to quality healthcare to patients are underscored. The emphasis is on effective treatment on the basis of which outcomes can be assessed and quality care can be improved.
