Challenging diabetes myths
Article Abstract:
The ways in which Kirpal Marwa, the diabetes nurse specialist is bringing a change in health promotion in Coventry's Asian community by addressing cultural issues are discussed. The efforts Marwa put in to overcome the language barrier, that was hindering the Asian community patients from receiving health promotional information, and the way in which she explained them about diabetes by overcoming the myths regarding it are detailed.
