Changing the donation culture
Article Abstract:
London-based renal nurse Cynthia Davis has won a 'Nursing Times' award for the pioneering work she has done encouraging organ donation in the African American community in south-east London that has the highest number of African American people awaiting transplantation in the UK. She feels privileged to win the award, and hopes that as a result, the project and its importance would receive greater recognition.

Trekking through rainforests and climbing mountains are all part of the nurses job according to Ms Worsfold, medical coordinator for Raleigh International, a youth development that takes people from all backgrounds and nationalities on expeditions around the world. She has also worked as a repatriation coordinator and gained 'in-the-field' experience that supported large outdoor events.
