Child care: Why nurses are getting a raw deal
Article Abstract:
A survey shows that managers and clerical staff at trusts and health authorities are more likely to have access to child care schemes at work than nurses and doctors. The survey by Pay and Workforce Research (PWR), an NHS research organization claims that such policies will hamper nurse recruitment. There are also regional differences, with more sophisticated child care schemes in London. Managers claim that child care schemes are expensive and could only be offered to a few people, so would not make much impact on recruitment.
