Chocolate - divine food, fattening junk or nutritious supplementation?
Article Abstract:
Chocolate dates back as early as the times of the Aztecs and the Mayas, but up to now it still remains to be a fascinating and controversial food component. Its strong and complex flavor makes it ideal for masking the undesirable tastes of drugs and more nutritious food. Chocolate craving is induced by the senses and not pharmacologically effected. Nutrition-wise, chocolate is a major source of energy and copper and substantial source of the antioxidant phenol. However, it is also reported to cause allergic reactions and medical problems such as rashes and asthma.

The results indicate similar meal patterns between obese and normal weight men. The circadian eating pattern was also similar in both groups. There was no distinct 'obese eating style' observed in the study.
