Claiming abortion malpractice: providers say suits are an attempt to put them out of business
Article Abstract:
Some abortion provider groups report sharp increases in the number of malpractice lawsuits brought by women. Some abortion-opposing groups claim some credit for the increase, as they often link women with malpractice attorneys or provide free legal services. Abortion providers claim that most of these suits are frivolous and are filed for the purpose of recording claims against a physician's record. However, some physicians admit that professional standards are not enforced, and some abortionists do poor quality work.

Right-to-die advocates seek distance from Dr. Kevorkian
Article Abstract:
Right-to-die advocates are voicing increasing concern over the actions of Dr. Jack Kevorkian. Dr. Kevorkian has acknowledged his participation in 38 assisted suicides since 1990. Opponents are concerned about Kevorkian's ability to appropriately screen patients and are calling for legalization of the practice. Right-to-die advocates believe that legalization of assisted suicide will help to regulate and monitor the practice.
