Clinical prediction rule for identifying children with cerebrospinal fluid pleocytosis at very low risk of bacterial meningitis
Article Abstract:
The Bacterial Meningitis Score is validated in the era of widespread conjugate pneumococcal vaccination on a large population of children evaluated in emergency departments across the US. The muticenter study has validated the Bacterial Meningitis Score prediction rule as an accurate decision support tool and this clinical prediction rule might be helpful to guide clinical decision making for the management of children presenting to emergency departments with cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) pleocytosis.
