Combating antibiotic resistance
Article Abstract:
An alarming increase in drug-resistant bacterial infections due to the widespread use of antibiotics by health professions and the livestock industry is discussed. Dental practitioners as health care providers should use antibacterial drugs in an appropriate manner, which will extend the efficacy of the drug that, forms the treatment for many infectious diseases.

Antibacterial properties of self-etching dental adhesive systems
Article Abstract:
The article examines the antibacterial properties of some self-etching dental adhesives that are used in dental bonding procedures. The antibacterial properties in adhesives can help in preventing caries resulting from bacterial microleakage.

'Smart' antimicrobial treatment developed
Article Abstract:
The development of a microbial treatment that can kill only Streptococcus mutans and not destroy nonpathogenic bacteria is discussed. The treatment is called 'SMART' or specifically targeted antimicrobial peptides.
