Preventing and detecting oral cancer
Article Abstract:
Study findings on oral health care professionalEs oral cancer prevention efforts (behavior counseling) and cancer examinations practices are reported. Findings indicate that nearly 82 percent dentists and 72 percent dental hygienists perform oral cancer examinations routinely, however counseling was offered by very less number of professionals. Implications for educational programs on oral cancer prevention counseling are mentioned.

Specialty and sex as predictors of depression in dentists
Article Abstract:
A survey is conducted, to determine the correlation of sex and dental specialty associated with depression in dentists. The results show that female pediatric dentists and periodontists are more depressed than their male counterparts. Relevant statistical information is also provided.

Assessing differences in hours worked between male and female dentists
Article Abstract:
There are significant differences in dentists' hours worked by sex and by age. Women's entry into the dental work force is significant and has helped maintain the supply of dentists.
