Perceptions of quality in long-term care: a satisfaction survey
Article Abstract:
Surveying quality care in a long-term geriatric facility should include families, staff, and patients. Researchers found that staff differed from patients and families with respect to perceived areas of importance and how successfully they were dealt with. Most of the respondents ranked interpersonal issues before other concerns. Children of residents were less satisfied with care than other types of relatives. Socioeconomic and ethnic aspects had some impact in this hospital serving a Jewish population.
