Daily variation of particulate air pollution and poor cardiac autonomic control in the elderly
Article Abstract:
There may be a mechanistic link between particulate matter air pollution and death from cardiovascular disease in the elderly. High pollution days appear to affect low heart rate variability and autonomic control, and this increases elderly health risk.
