Denture-related osteonecrosis of the maxilla associated with oral bisphosphonate treatment
Article Abstract:
A pressure wound in the margins of a removable maxillary denture revealed a palatal ulcer with exposed necrotic bone at its center in a 66 year-old woman who said she had received oral alendorate sodium treatment for six years. Possible complications from bisphosphonate therapy should be considered by physicians and dental surgeons, with the example of this occurrence.
